When the Treasure Chest symbol lands anywhere on both the first and fifth reels, the Treasure Chest bonus begins. The Unicorn does not multiply the moon or treasure chest symbols.
All winning symbol combinations are paid, sometimes with a multiplier of two or more. When it lands anywhere on a reel it can expand to make the entire reel wild, triggering the Unicorn bonus.
